What is Diversity?

In the workplace, as leaders and employees we have the opportunity to create a beautiful, cohesive array or spread neatly wrapped to reveal a blossoming product for our customers, patients and clients alike. The workforce diversity definition can include gender, race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, physical abilities and ideologies. Diversity also includes employees' life experiences, how they solve issues and socioeconomic status".

Outside of the opportunity to create something unique and beautiful; there's numerous benefits that can help us be successful by being inclusive of all.

When we are inclusive of individuals with different cultural and professional backgrounds it can lead to new lines of thinking, variance of outlooks, and creative solutions for achieving goals. Increased creativity can also motivate teams to provide more input and take part in collaborations. Potentially, leading to creative developments that support growth and achievements.

By practicing diversity and inclusion in hiring or arranging teams; individual members may not feel unsupported or alone. When we as employees and leaders of organizations feel value in our work and contributions and take interest in our career development, we start connecting with end results and our shared responsibilities.

When incorporating mentorship in business practice it gives employees the understanding and Imowledge they need to complete their roles and tasks. It may also be helpful for new team members to see seasoned co-workers and leaders who can relate and understand some of their personal experiences.
