Sergio Glait, MD: Orthopedic Surgeon at The Orthopaedic Center of South Florida

At the Orthopaedic Center of South Florida, Dr. Glait has earned a strong reputation for providing top-tier orthopedic care, especially in the workers’ compensation space. A board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty certificate in hand surgery, Dr. Glait has been honored with the Best Doctor in Workers’ Compensation Award for three consecutive years, reflecting both his clinical excellence and dedication to patient outcomes.

Raised in Miami after being born in Colombia, Dr. Glait began his academic journey at the University of Virginia, graduating with honors in Chemistry. He went on to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, followed by an orthopedic residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases and dual fellowships—one in Sports Medicine at NYU and another in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic.


Today, Dr. Glait is known for his compassionate and individualized care. He focuses on helping injured workers regain function and return to work safely and efficiently. His approach is grounded in education, clear communication, and collaboration with case managers and adjusters to support seamless care coordination.


In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Glait is an active contributor to the orthopedic field through research and national presentations. His ability to speak Spanish and French allows him to connect meaningfully with a wide range of patients.


Outside of medicine, Dr. Glait enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and playing soccer, all of which reflect the well-rounded, grounded perspective he brings to his work.
