BLOOM Magazine had the pleasure of sitting down with Kermisha Stringer, a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and current Business Development Liaison at Collage Rehabilitation Partners. With a rich background as a Medical and Vocational Case Manager, Kermisha brings a unique blend of clinical insight and relationship-building expertise to her role. Outside of work, she’s a self-described foodie, museum lover, and festival enthusiast who finds joy in Atlanta’s vibrant music scene.

When asked about her favorite productivity tip, Kermisha shared a takeaway from The 4-Hour Workweek—limit email checks to twice a day to stay focused and reduce unnecessary distractions. Her career in the workers' compensation field began unexpectedly, sparked by an opportunity that quickly revealed how dynamic and purpose-driven the work could be.
Kermisha is deeply motivated by the opportunity to support injured workers and ensure they feel seen, heard, and guided through the complexities of their claims. She highlighted an important industry shift: a growing number of injured workers are over 70, which calls for greater adaptability and tailored strategies to meet diverse needs.
Though her role now centers on business development, Kermisha’s clinical foundation keeps her grounded in the real impact these services have on people’s lives. She’s currently pursuing certification as a Life Care Planner in 2024—an aspiration that reflects her long-standing commitment to professional growth and excellence.
Outside of her professional achievements, Kermisha’s adventurous spirit shines through. On a recent trip to Mexico, she challenged herself by swimming in a cenote and braving a zipline course at night—experiences that mirror the courage she brings into her everyday life. She draws inspiration from her daughters, aiming to lead by example with consistency, discipline, and intention.
When reflecting on leadership, Kermisha shared a guiding principle from her earlier management days: “I don’t work above you, I work beside you.” It’s a philosophy she still lives by—fostering collaboration, mutual respect, and shared success. She also prioritizes balance and boundaries, valuing time with loved ones and cherishing sentimental heirlooms, like her grandfather’s hats, that keep her grounded.
As she continues to grow in her role at Collage Rehabilitation Partners, Kermisha hopes to elevate the visibility and value of case managers and the broader rehab team within the workers’ comp system. Her advice to others in the industry? Lead with empathy, communicate clearly, stay curious, and remain resourceful.
Through every chapter, Kermisha Stringer exemplifies authenticity, resilience, and a passion for making a meaningful impact—both personally and professionally.
